Bio:
Madeline Alvizo Ramirez is an artist, educator and cultural worker located in the lower Yakima Valley of Central Washington. She is the CEO of Chola Pinup, Chola Vida, Madeline Alvizo Ramirez Studios; founding member of the national La Chola Conference and Director and founder of Xochiquetzal Cultural Arts (formerly Ticualtzin Arte). When she is not traveling for features and photo shoots, she is exploring the Pacific Northwest and beyond with her husband Juan and their 6 children.
Alvizo Ramirez has exhibited her work nationally, most recently she was featured in "Bajitas Y Suavecitas" a female Lowrider culture show at California State University, Northridge; in special release "Women of Lowriding" issue for Lowrider Magazine and in the El Noroeste Art Show at Tacoma Art Museum by Mi Centro. Alviso Ramirez has published her art and poetry in various publications including, but not limited to Heritage University's Pahto's Shadow, the Discovery Channel, Browns In Black & White: Lowriders, Homies Y La Vida Loca II(2024); La Raíz Magazine: Gente Chicana Edition (2023); Browns In Black & White: Collectors Only (2021); Hispanicdotes: Ascendencias (2020); Bend, Don't Shatter- Poets on The Beginning of Desire (2004) various college and university readers revolving chola studies, ethnic studies, women studies and cultural studies.
